Editing Definition

Editing is the process of getting some material – whether it’s content, images or sound - ready for presentation. The process of editing includes all kinds of modifications, such as correction, condensation and organization.

Visual Editing

Visual editing is the process of organizing and reorganizing a set of images or other form of visual material (such as film shots).
In film editing, for example, one is making connections between several shots and sequences to form a complete movie.
The job of a film editor includes cutting off film slates and putting the pieces together, while working on layers of images and sound.

Video Editing

Video editing is the process in which a video editor takes pieces of video and re-arrange them into another piece of video. Video editing includes removing of unwanted footage, choosing some desired footage and arranging it in time to synthesize a new piece of footage. (See Wikipedia definition for video editing).
